Directions
From the car park, follow the path towards the alp hut Tesselbergeralm, until you reach the asphalt road that leads to the last farms. The signpost for ‘Geige’ leads you uphill along this road for a while before turning off steeply into the forest shortly before reaching the last farm. The path now leads steadily and steeply uphill through the beautiful spruce forest until you reach the forest edge after approx. 1.5 hours and ascend to the summit cross of the Geige, which is already visible.
The path (no. 8) now follows the broad, flat ridge, well marked, to the summit cross of the Kor, which can be seen from afar. From here you can already recognise your next destination.
Continue from Kor in the direction of Schönbichl. It soon becomes steeper and more exposed, with a short rocky section that is well secured with steel chains. Then the route is fairly flat to the summit cross, which offers great views.
For the descent, follow the signposted path that leads you over the broad ridge towards Hühnerspiel. You can soon branch off to the Tesselbergeralm (refreshment stop), from where the forest road leads back to the starting point. If you wish, you can first climb the less spectacular Hühnerspiel (cairn) and cross a little lower down (signposted) to the alp hut Tesselbergeralm (open from june to september).
